Talk on "HK Athletes Career & Education Program Marketing Promotion Proposal Competition"
The Service-Learning Section of CTL collaborated with the Department of Marketing to organize a sharing seminar on 24th Sept, 21 on the hottest topic in 2021 – Olympic sports and athletes, and their career development. The event featured Mr. Wong Kam Po, our former World Champion in Track Cycling, who shared his professional experience and transformation journey as a retired athlete. We also had our HSU postgraduate student Mr Kenneth Chiu, Hong Kong’s first professional baseball player, to share his sports career experience. Alongside is Mr David So, who is the manager of the Hong Kong Athlete Career and Education Programme Committee, introducing their organization’s support for Hong Kong athlete’s post-sports career and life development.
This event serves as the basis for students of the service-learning project in BUS3008 Global Marketing to develop their own marketing campaign in the topic of improving career planning and support for Hong Kong athletes.
Dr. Haksin Chan, Head of the Department of Marketing, welcomed our speakers at the opening. Mr. Roy Ying, instructor of the BUS3008 Global Marketing module, introduced the marketing proposal competition details to the participants.
The participants, with over a hundred of them joining in person on that day, enthusiastically engaged in the Q&A with great interest. Our President Simon Ho, Vice-President (Organization Development) Dr. Tom Fong, and the Dean of School of Business Prof. Bradley Barns along with other staff also attend the sharing seminar.
