Community partner: Japanese Sake Culture Promotion Association

Project: ASI4008 immerses students in Japanese ancient literature and the cultural significance of sake. Through academic study and community outreach, they create a mini-exhibit that highlights these traditions. This hands-on experience fosters cultural exchange and equips students with skills in community engagement and real-world application of their knowledge.

Community partner: “Hi! Strangers” Social Innovation Project

Project: This module offers students hands-on experience in web development, centered on social enterprise start-ups. Students engaged in a human library session with Mr Corn Sim, founder of the “Hi! Strangers” project, to explore real-world challenges. They then applied their skills to support a local social enterprise, gaining valuable insights along the way.

Community partner: Triathlon Association of Hong Kong China

Project: This module offers a comprehensive understanding of managing sports events of various sizes and types. This year, students supported the World Triathlon Cup in Hong Kong, engaging directly with the sports community. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply classroom knowledge in event logistics and enhance their practical skills outside the classroom.

Community partner: ComHome Social Housing Platform Limited

Project: This module delves into the relationship between society, government, and citizens. Partnering with ComHome Social Housing Platform, students visited subdivided units and low-income families in Hong Kong to investigate housing challenges. Through these experiences and a report-back session, they deepened their understanding of critical housing issues in the city.
