Community partner: Hide and Seek Tour 

Project:  This module aims to provide students with an understanding of Cultural Tourism in Asia. The students engaged in a Cultural Tourism Assessment, exploring designated sites in groups. They evaluate specific cultural heritage and design tourism routes while conducting impact assessments. Students assessed various preservation methods and consider sustainability, stakeholder interests, and authenticity. The module concluded with a demonstration tour, where students present their findings and recommendations to the community partner and peers, enhancing their practical understanding of cultural tourism and heritage conservation.

Community partner: Tea Education Association of Hong Kong

Project: The objective of this module is to introduce students to tea culture and teach them how to promote psychological reset and healing through tea ceremony practices. Dr Rami Chan collaborated with the Tea Education Association of Hong Kong. Students of this module have the opportunity to serve as an organising committee to hold the Hong Kong Secondary School Chinese Tea Art Competition.

Community partner: Tin Ka Ping Institute For Chinese Language and Culture at HSUHK

Project: This module enhances essay writing skills while deepening students’ appreciation of classic and contemporary literature. Collaborating with the Tin Ka Ping Institute, students created literary walking tours and recorded videos for the institution. This service-learning project expanded their reading horizons, improved language proficiency, and fostered critical thinking and expression in Chinese.

Community partners: Tai Wai Tsuen Village Office, Sha Tin Rural Committee, Power of Youth HK

Project: This module explores the interplay between cyber technology and modern society, analysing its causes and consequences. This year, student teams organised a public exhibition for the Urban-Rural Integrated Cultural Conservation Project, highlighting the cultural heritage of Tai Wai Village. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness of rural conservation and foster appreciation for traditional culture in the New Territories.
