Community partner: CFSC Shun On District Elderly Community Centre

Project: CCI4002 guides students in exploring value creation through art in social services. They assisted the elderly in a Pastel Nagomi Art workshop, providing one-on-one guidance. Students also conducted interviews to capture the life experiences of participants, fostering meaningful connections. These stories and artworks culminated in an exhibition, nurturing students’ creative, enhancing community engagement and promoting well-being by addressing essential needs.

Community partner: ELCHK Yu Chui Neighbourhood Elderly Centre / Sik Sik Yuen Ho Tai Neighbourhood Centre for Senior Citizens

Project: This module aims to explore stress and its effects on individual and group well-being. The module emphasises the importance of positive and constructive interventions and attitudes for effectively managing stress. As part of this focus, students organised a Chinese Paper Cutting Workshop for the elderly. The goal of this workshop was to provide a space for the elderly to enjoy the art of paper cutting and experience relaxation.

This module aims to develop students’ leadership skills through service learning to the local community, utilising an innovative approach. Students visited Lek Yuen, Shek Mun and Deaf Cafeteria, proposed projects to improve the social needs for the organisation. Students also designed Emerging Sports Service Day to serve elderly of Ho Tai Neighbourhood Centre for Senior Citizens.

Community partner: Fung Yiu King Evergreen College, HSUHK Jockey Club Residential Colleges

Project: This module explores the mission and constitution of social enterprises focused on employment and transformative services, emphasising sustainable practices. It also covers leadership decision-making processes. To enhance the mental health of Evergreen College residents, students organised a meditation workshop addressing issues like academic pressure and interpersonal conflicts.
