Call for Teachers: Support for Service-Learning Modules 2024-25
We are currently inviting our teachers who are interested in incorporating Service-Learning (S-L) elements into their modules. Credit-bearing service-Learning is an experiential learning opportunity where students apply their academic knowledge on real-life community projects.
We welcome modules from any discipline to explore the S-L pedagogy. Projects can be small scale (e.g. adopting a community-related topic in coursework) or larger scale (e.g. arranging off-campus intern/service sessions to serve underprivileged communities).
The CTL Service-Learning Section provides support as follows:
- Search and matching of community partners (NGOs, social enterprises etc)
- Budget to cover your project materials and related fees
- Logistics assistance from S-L staff
- Hiring of service-learning ambassadors /helpers to help throughout module
- Brainstorm discussion to help generate project ideas
Consultation Period: Now to 31st July 2024
Deadline for submitting application: 31st July 2024
