Exciting Award Announcement for Our Service-Learning Projects

Celebrating Our Commitment to Service!

We are thrilled to share that our community service efforts have been honoured with the Volunteer New Star Award (義工新星獎) from The Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC). This award recognises the outstanding contributions of our students in two meaningful service-learning projects carried out in collaboration with CFSC’s Shun On District Elderly Community Centre and True Light Villa District Elderly Community Centre.

Celebrating Our Award-Winning Projects:

CCI4002: Cultural Governance and Ethics

In Dr Patrick Mok’s class, students conducted personal interviews with the elderly during Pastel Nagomi Art workshop, capturing their life stories. This project enabled seniors to express themselves artistically while fostering meaningful connections. The students organised a heartfelt exhibition showcasing both the artwork and the narratives, deepening our understanding of the rich experiences within the elderly community.

FIN1001: Personal Finance and Society

Led by Ms Rosalie Woo, this project focused on empowering retirees with essential financial knowledge. Through fun games and interactive booths, students taught the elderly about managing personal finances, understanding investment tools, and recognising common scams. This initiative highlighted the importance of developing sound financial habits, enhancing the financial literacy of our elderly community.

Since 2019, the Service-Learning Section have empowered students through impactful service-learning experiences, combining academic knowledge with community service to foster critical skills and make a positive difference in our society.
